Agreement to strengthen and promote the development of Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism

Happy to share this news that took place on January 25, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation signed an agreement with the Association of Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism of Argentina (AAETAV) with the purpose of conducting training that contributes to promoting the Nature and Adventure segments and generate tools to standardize the quality of the service.

In the words of Minister Matías Lammens: “To increase and promote nature tourism is one of the objectives that we set when we assumed the management in the Ministry, and at present we consider it a fundamental pillar for the development of all activity in the current world after the COVID-19 pandemic”.

The agreement establishes the execution plan of implementation of training courses that will include some 300 people from all over the country, around 20 percent of the list of providers surveyed and will improve Argentina’s competitiveness in the field.

The planned subjects are “Risk management in natural and wild areas” and “WFR-International Risk Certification”. These two contents will generate an improvement in the quality and safety in the provision of services in nature. In terms of international level, they are usually requirements asked by foreign agencies or operators for contracting services in the country. The incorporation of this type of certificates and contents increases the competitiveness of the country in this segment.

In Wilderness Patagonia – Travel Company ®, we are proud to be represented by Carlos Pelli, Director & Founder of the company who is also the  president of the Association of Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism of Argentina (AAETAV), promoter of this initiative that has manifested “in this new normality, both the intermediaries and promoters of this tourism segment and the final consumer are requiring new information and greater tools to be able to contract or sell ecotourism and active tourism activities, related to the new protocols and emergency parameters” .

Since 2005, the AAETAV represents the private sector in nature tourism and active or adventure tourism (providers, guides, agencies and operators), has 120 partners in fourteen provinces and has collaborated with the Argentine Tourism Quality System (SACT) since 2007. As members of the association we will be actively accompanying this action by providing our expertise in the area, aligning ourselves and sharing the words of Claudina González, Director of Nature Tourism: “Nature tourism represents a great opportunity in tourism development of Argentina. The joint work with AAETAV is in line with the search for greater competitiveness as a destination, training providers and operators in order to generate safe and quality services in nature”.
