Forests of the Future is the restoration and reforestation program carried out by Wilderness Patagonia – Travel Company, current concessionaire of Puerto Piedras Blancas and Puerto Radal, located on Victoria Island, Nahuel Huapi National Park and the first Carbon Neutral (CO2 Neutral) tourism company in Argentina.

On March 18, 2023, the company’s sustainability team carried out a forest restoration day on Victoria Island. The reforestation of native species of the historically intervened forest in Puerto Piedras Blancas was carried out. The action counted with the direct intervention of the personnel of the National Parks Administration and the students of the nautical schools of the Club Náutico Bariloche (CNB), the Yacht Club Bariloche and the Sailing School of the Club Andino Villa La Angostura, who arrived at the island as part of the crews of the sailboats that carried out the Regata de Marcas Fijas a la Bahía (Fixed Marks Regatta to the Bay). This was the second carbon neutral regatta designed and supervised by the CNB (Carbon Neutral Bureau) with the support of Wilderness Patagonia.

45 children, crew members and guests were made aware of the carbon neutral program in nautical-sports and tourism activities, environmental education and the importance of the objectives of conservation of native species in the Nahuel Huapi National Park.

Alberto Suero Forestry Center and Nursery of the Victoria Island Botanical Garden as an extension of its activities and part of the program for the propagation of native species for promotion, environmental education and active restoration. Each tree received a traceability code so that each child can follow the tree’s development.
